Pooran Chandra Pandey
General Secretary

A contributor to the global encyclopaedia on ‘poverty alleviation and basic income guarantee’, Pooran is a member on the board of the World Food Programme Trust of India, having previously worked in leadership roles with the United Nations Global Compact (Network) India, Ispat Industries Limited, and the Times of India Group. He is also a founding chief executive officer of Dialogue of Civilisations; a Berlin based international think tank. He recently also led a Swedish Government supported first India High Level Panel on – Circular Designing and Future of Sustainability.

Pooran is trained and educated in India, US, Sweden, Fiji and China.

He is also a British Chevening Scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK.

Vijay Singh
President

Vijay has over 21 years of working experience in different capacities in the voluntary, humanitarian as well as the private sector. Vijay holds Post Graduate Diploma in CSR & Sustainability from Swedish Institute, Stockholm. An M.A in Public Administration and a Post Graduate Diploma in International Human Rights Law from The Indian Academy of International Law & Diplomacy.

Vijay has worked with voluntary sector in Canada, U.K and India. In CSR Domain Vijay has worked as Lead CSR with Times Group, DLF Ltd and Sahara Group as CEO for Sahara Welfare Foundation and now with PI Industries Ltd which is into the business of Agchem value chain from R&D to distribution providing innovative solutions to farmers.

Shashi Prakash
Treasurer

A committed professional social worker, Shashi has progressively worked on the issues of child rights, specially child protection and right to education for the past 20 years. He has worked with reputed national and international agencies like Action Aid, Aide et Action and UNICEF. In corporate sector he has worked with Times Foundation, DLF Foundation and now with Bharati Foundation. He likes to read and write on contemporary issues of social policy. His other interests lies in extending Information Technology in rural areas for development.

He has been an Advisor to Child Rights Resource Center, Lucknow. He is also a trainer on Juvenile Justice to police, judiciary and government officials.

Bhavna Dayal

Bhavna has over 20 years of experience in the Communications space and has worked in diverse industries including construction, automotive, among others. Her forte has been helping organizations build strong brands through a diversity of tools. Bhavna also worked on several CSR projects including the pioneering ‘Life Enrichment programme’ for migrant labourers with the support of IFC. She was instrumental in leveraging CSR as an important tool in building employee commitment and generating awareness. Her role in providing strategic direction to organisations while they experienced rapid growth held them in good stead. Prior to her current position as the Head of Communications for the Industry Association of Microfinance, where she works on creating communication strategies to benefit and protect the low-income households availing microcredit, she worked for the global construction conglomerate, Punj Lloyd and also Anand Automotive Services, a leading automotive component manufacturer. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in CSR & Sustainability from the Swedish Institute, Stockholm besides her graduation from Calcutta and post-graduation from MS University Baroda.

Aparajita Roy

Aparajita has over 24 years of experience across diverse sectors, namely social sector, consulting, multinational new media, KPOs, BPOs etc., and has managed workforce to the tune of 3000+ staff. She has worked with organizations which were start-ups, multinationals having geographically dispersed and diverse teams, multi-cultural environment and also organization having a strong local presence in research and academia in India.

Her core interest has been leading the HR functions along with providing strategic leadership in other operational areas as well as business segments and CSR initiatives.

She is a Post Graduate in Human Resources from Xavier Institute of Social Sciences (XISS) and a Graduate in Psychology(H) from Delhi University.

She was Director HR of Public Health Foundation of India, before joining PHM. She has interest in diverse causes such as Health, Environment, Gender Equity, etc.

As a part of the senior management, she has been instrumental in designing and realigning the people & operational functions. She has been actively contributing towards organisational strategies and creatin an intellectually stimulating, value driven & empowering organizational culture.

Sqn Ldr Vidula Abhyankar

Sqn Ldr Vidula Abhyankar (Retd)

A short service commission Officer of Indian Air Force, Sqn Ldr Vidula has worked for last 17 years in the field of education, training and development of Air warriors and their families. As Executive Director of various Air Force Schools and nominee Chairman of various Kendriya Vidyalayas under defense sector, she contributed to nurturing young talent of the wards of combatants and non-combatants of IAF. She worked to identify the various educational needs of the families of the troops and enhanced the sources to improve their needs related to vocational counseling and guidance. She has worked towards channelizing the youth power of civilian children of border areas adjoining the states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh towards fruitful utilization in Armed forces through Publicity Campaigns, Rehabilitation and Survival Camps. After completion of her President’s Commission, she worked as a Life Skills Coach for the students of classes IX-XII of Schools under Chandigarh Administration through RIE. She has been a Resource Person for the Induction Courses conducted by the Regional Institute of English, Chandigarh and SCERT, Chandigarh for the teachers of government schools under Chandigarh Administration (SSA Projects).

Shishir Lal

Shishir has M.Tech in Environmental Engineering from IIT Mumbai and has specialization in sustainability from Swedish Institute, Stockholm. Shishir has more than 23 years of experience in the field of Environment and Social Impact Assessment. He has widely worked in the area of Climate Change and Sustainability Reporting based on GRI Framework. Shishir has been the Team Leader for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) related studies covering infrastructure, mining, power and construction. He has worked closely with regulatory agencies (MoEF, SPCB and Deptt of Forests) for grant of statutory environmental clearances. During his career Shishir has worked with various corporate, bilateral and multilateral agencies such as The World Bank, USAID, JBIC, IFC and JICA on various environmental assessment related projects covering infrastructure and power. Currently Shishir is working with Emmar as Head Sustainability.

Shishir is a LEED Auditor for Environmental Management System (ISO-14001), Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS-18001) and Energy Management System (EN -16001) and has implemented many EHS projects across various sectors.

Sandeep Kumar Seth

Sandeep is a senior journalist with over fifteen years of working experience with Star News, India TV, Aaj tak (India Today), Republic Bharat and at present TV9 Bharatvarsh.

Sandeep is an ardent professional for whom Journalism is not only an occupation but a means of bringing uplift in the society by means of socio-economic and environmental sustainability.

Sandeep has completed his master’s degree in History from Delhi University and has done specialization in mass communication, before joining the mainstream media. In his personal capacity he has been instrumental in training and nurturing young talents.

During his career Sandeep has vastly conducted ground reporting and written several articles on cross border terrorism. He is an ardent believer that education is the key to mainstream youth who are otherwise vulnerable to follow the path of terrorism.

Dr. Harpal Negi (Coordinator-PHM Uttaranchal) has a doctorate degree in sociology (Topic: Sociological study of traditional medical practitioners of Uttaranchal) and has been running a not-for-profit organisation in Uttaranchal since 1985. Uttaranchal Youth and Rural Development Organisation (UYRDC). Under the guidance of Dr.Harpal Negi the organisation has worked extensively for the disadvantaged sections of the society in Uttaranchal. Dr.Negi’s role especially in the area of promoting cooperatives and development of self-help groups is credible. Dr.Negi has been engaged in the remotes of Uttaranchal hills developing agriculture cooperatives, fruit cooperatives, vegetable grower cooperatives, herbal cooperative groups and dairy cooperatives.

Renuka Srinivasan, has over 20 years of work experience in varied roles in different sectors, ranging from NGOs to Donor agencies to IT firms. Worked with bilateral development cooperation agency like the European Commission, on issues such as poverty alleviation, HIV/AIDS, rural development, environment etc. Has also worked with a number of non-profit organisations on issues as broad ranging as art & cultural heritage preservation, children and youth issues, local governance and education. Her stint in software development in the Information Technology sector, has given her invaluable experience and undertanding of the synergy that can brought to the application of ICTs in development issues.

Dr. Raja Venkatesh has a Bachelor in Medicine and surgery, and is a consultant medical officer with a number of voluntary organisations, such as SEVAI, and HUT. He is the founding Director of the Human Upliftment trust, which primarily works in the areas of health and healthcare, including HIV/AIDS anti-retro viral therapy for underprivileged in Tamilnadu state.

Prof.S.Sitaraman has had a varied career, working with Corporates to working as an Administrator of the Kerala Kottakkal Ayurvedic Hospital. He is currently in-charge of setting up the Amity School of Ayurveda, in Delhi.

Dr. Paramhans Mishra has over 28 years of experience as a medical practitioner, an effective administrator and staunch supporter of human rights. Dr.Mishra is an MBBS Graduate from University of Delhi, India. Dr.Mishra has done Master’s in Hospital Administration from. ‘All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi ’. He is also an ISO (Indian Standard Organisation) certified lead Auditor and NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals) trained Assessor.

Dilith Castleton, Having started her career as development professional in 1984, there has been no looking back for her. She has a Masters degree in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social sciences, which is the most reputed institution in India with some of the best development professionals to its credit in India and abroad. She has actively worked for the TATA STEEL “Social services and Family Initiatives Department” in different capacities in the last 28 years in Rural, Tribal and Reproductive Health services. The TATA’s have the reputation of being the oldest and most ethical corporate in India .

Aakash Sethi, Currently involved in devising CSR policy & initiatives for Microsoft in Istanbul . He has wide experience and exposure to working with the Voluntary sector both as a volunteer himself and in an official capacity with AIESEC (Manager: Development and CSR Initiatives) and with Corporates such as Ambuja Cement Ltd.

Rajeev Ranjan, is a Judge by profession and a staunch supporter of rights based perspective of human development. He has a specialization in dealing with Intellectual Property Rights, domestic and international arbitration, and enforcements. He has wide experience in advising Not-For-Profit organizations and companies (Both Indian and Foreign) on key issues like corporate reorganizations and reconstructions, liquidation, foreign investment proposals, joint ventures, contracts, MOU etc.
